Biography

Sound Storm was founded in 2002 in Turin, a city in the north west of Italy.
Over the years the band has developed a very personal blend of Heavy Metal mixed with a theatrical sense of drama, which was internationally recognised with the release of their critically acclaimed debut 'Twilight Opera'.

The second chapter 'Immortalia' is a stunning concept album on the quest for eternal life, an amazing journey through literature, poetry and history, a collection of songs linked together by the common theme of the immortality of the soul. .

Shortly after the band supported Norwegian Gothic Metal veterans Tristania on their European tour, as well as some Italian shows with Epica and Haggard, plus another European tour with Therion and Arkona at the end of 2013.

Between 2014 and 2015 Sound Storm joined forces with the German Metal Orchestra HAGGARD in the 'Symphonic Blast' and 'Dragonfest' tours, raiding Europe in 15 succesful shows.

The third chapter "Vertigo" was released at the end of 2016 by Rockshots Records and it marks another important milestone for the band, mixing their wide range of influences in a piece of work perfectly balanced between powerful guitars, magnificent symphonic choirs, gothic atmospheres and refined melodies, which is definitely worth listening to. It was mixed and mastered by the renowned Joost Van Den Broek (Epica, Ayreon, After Forever, etc) at the Sandlane Recording Facilities in The Netherlands.

After being a male-fronted metal band since the beginning, 2018 will always be rememberd as the final evolution of Sound Storm, turning into a 7-members band.
